9 photo numérique
D’argentique (à savoir une image obtenue par l’action de la lumière sur une surface sensible), la photo devient numérique. Dans un premier temps, on numérise les photos imprimées au moyen d’un scanner. Dans un deuxième temps, au début des années 2000, les appareils photo numériques deviennent monnaie courante, avec stockage des photos sur une carte mémoire intégrée à l’appareil. La qualité de la photo dépend du nombre de pixels, et la taille du fichier est proportionnelle à la qualité d’image demandée. On peut ensuite télécharger les photos dans son ordinateur pour stockage, traitement et envoi par courriel. On peut les retoucher au moyen de logiciels spécifiques, le plus connu étant le logiciel Photoshop d’Adobe. Parallèlement, la consultation de photos sur le web, qui demandait beaucoup de patience les premières années, est devenue un vrai plaisir avec la généralisation de l’internet à débit rapide (voir par exemple le beau site ALTphotos).
